juli gessner (@miniplural) is an illustrator and scenic artist in madison, wisconsin. while not usually a singer, they wrote this song years ago as a love letter to "everyone who wants to be free" and find a space for themselves and their loved ones. not all houses need to be perfect to be homes, and no shade to twenty one pilots but juli would take a house of wood over a house of gold as long as it meant being close to the ones they love.
